Oak Cliff, located south of Downtown and the Trinity River, was once a large, thriving city. Civic pride still prevails. Historic Jefferson Boulevard is Oak Cliff's "Main Street" and many businesses there have been passed from generation to generation. Nearby Winnetka Heights offers wood frame, prairie-style homes, many of which have been renovated. Close proximity to the Dallas Zoo, DFW Airport and recreational activities in nearby Arlington make Oak Cliff especially attractive to young families. Dallas Mayor Laura Miller is a resident of the Oak Cliff neighborhood.
